This will be the opening sequence to each episode on Artfully Crafted. I wanted something to set the tone and the intention - something joyful, light, and whimsical, with a twist!
@gbeats24 worked on the stop motion, inspired by magical scenes from both Beauty & the Beast and Matilda, where objects come to life and are jumping around the room. I feel like I have a real life Lumiere and Cogsworth in my living room now!
@upper_attic worked on the music, inspired by the scores from Poor Things and Amelie which are both orchestral and really quirky at the same time. She is my sister-in-law and it was really important to me to support her along her own creative journey, as she is currently studying music production and this was her first commission.
I am so grateful to them both for their talent, passion and dedication in bringing my mad ideas to life!

Wow this was suchhh a brilliant job . The most challenging animated sequence I’ve done in my career with 5 individual rigs, one for each envelope, set up by the incredible @albanstudios . Each envelope had to swing and turn and loop the loop at different paces and in different positions. My tiny brain was hurting by the end of it all, but how satisfying to stand back and see the finished piece.
Giving me real Toy Story’s Sid’s disturbing toys vibes - Swipe (3) for the whole sequence without the rigs removed and some bts content (photographed and art directed by @racheltse_ ) of the beautiful sets - designed and built by @paulina_piipponen

Phoawwwwwww this was a challenging but glorious project 🙃 here are some bts from a paper animation we made last year for one of my clients 🧪🧬🥼
I dipped my toe into hand drawn animation, and we developed a pretty beaut workflow for creating paper replacement animation with @joey_jpeg_
Loved planning it all out - digitising the designs, watching that sexy @cricut works her magic, and so satisfying separating all the coloured card with foam tape to create a bit of depth and shadows between layers 🤤🤤🤤
As with the majority of the animations I make, I try to avoid digital effects 💀 so the thingsssss are in mostly camera
Was also fun putting my science degree to use ! 🤓 finally …
The biggest challenge in this project was hands down designing all the macro and micro structures to feel like they’re part of the same 🌎 - and communicating the scientific information in a simple way … i mean that is the point in the whole thing but boyyyyyyy it’s a head f**k

Transforming the pepper shaker from the Smythson archives into the workshop conductor by the epic @albanstudios . We worked together to make the chess pieces turning transitions, so satisfying 🤤

The merry go round was the hardest shot to animate - so many moving parts for my tiny brain - each bobbin rotates and moves up and down on 8 spindles as the whole model rotates - with help from my lovely assistant @florence.film_ . Fun how the reflectivey bits of the books are affected by the movement
