‘Suspect: The Shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes’ - Disney+
Alex Gibson was the sound effects editor on this series and kindly asked me to join him on episodes 2&3.
Whether you remember the events or not, I think the series will raise a mixture of horror and anger at the sheer ineptitude of the police operation that led to Jean Charles murder by the Met and then the rank self interest that went into the subsequent cover up of what really happened.
Feeling quite emotional about being nominated for the AMPS Awards Excellence in Sound for a Factual Film for Strike: An Uncivil War, especially alongside such amazing fellow nominees.
I think it’s a testament to how powerful the story that the film tells is, as well as the whole sound crews work and the amazing work of director Daniel Gordon, DP Michael Timney, editor Kevin Konak and composer Tim Atack.
