“We are living through a gathering dusk. Under the looming shadow of a new Sith administration, the world turns ever darker—laws tightening, truths distorted, lives pushed further into the margins. This is not yet night, but it is no longer day. We inhabit the twilight.
The Twilight World emerges from this in-between space—where clarity blurs, boundaries dissolve, and queer magic begins to shimmer. Twilight is both a warning and an invitation: a time of obscurity and uncertainty, but also of reflection, resistance, and becoming. This exhibition gathers works that refuse to be extinguished, choosing instead to glow with the strange beauty of liminality. Here, artists embrace the underground not as exile, but as sanctuary—a place to gather, to whisper, to imagine.
These works do not flinch from darkness. They dwell in it. They reimagine it. They claim it. In this waning light, we find new ways of seeing, new gestures of defiance, new rituals of survival. The Twilight World is a map and a mirror: a collective attempt to navigate what it means to live queerly and openly when the sky grows heavy, and the future is unsure.
This is our magic hour. Let us regroup. Let us remember. Let us resist.” –Scott Hug
