In a cultural landscape seeking new connections, the Fellowship Programme proposes a renewed alliance between artists and those who support the emergence of their work.
A new cultural model based on an expanded mecenat: more open, more engaged, and more attentive to the shifts in the creative world.
Conceived by iMAL, and in a context marked by profound ecological and social urgencies, the Fellowship programme invites us to imagine a different way of supporting and accompanying artistic creation, based on co-responsibility, shared experience, and commitment.
The financial support for the Fellowship Programme will come every year from a different art collector. The project was developed in cooperation with Frédéric de Goldschmidt, founder of Cloud Seven, who will back the first edition.
Here, « collecting » means becoming involved in a process, being present at the moment the work takes shape, participating in the ecosystem that makes it possible, and supporting culture as a universal right.

Eight years ago at #centraleforcontemporaryart @centralebrussels , with ten other contemporary art collectors based in Brussels such as Walter Vanhaerents, Alain Servais or Christophe Veys, we showed a selection of our pieces to the local and international public.
Private Choices, curated by @carinefol , was fun to install –and a big success.
Many great exhibitions followed, under the curatorship now of @tanianasielski .
I was sad to learn that, due to budget restrictions, Centrale would close. I hope a solution will be found to keep an art center very useful to our community of artists, art workers and art lovers from #downtownbrussels and beyond.

As the cold is arriving and the @bukhara.biennial is closing soon, I wanted to warm our bodies and souls with a selection among the many impressive yet poetic artworks commissioned by @gayane_umerova and selected by #DianaCampbell @dhakadiana for “Recipes for broken hearts”.

Nothing could have prepared us – Everything could have prepared us is the final exhibition at Centre Pompidou before it closes for renovation. Wolfgang Tillmans takes over the entire 6,000 sq m of the former BPI — the public library every Parisian has stepped into at least once.
In this space where rare encyclopedias once sat beside the daily press.
Tillmans installs works from across his 40-year career. Monumental prints hang alongside intimate snapshots, images of galaxies next to close-ups of skin. Framed and unframed, they are carefully positioned across the vast walls, smaller rooms and corridors, some so discreetly they risk being overlooked.
A cosmos of contrasts — like life itself.
Made of global shifts and personal moments.

Günther Uecker passed away a few days ago, leaving behind a radical and luminous body of work.
Since the mid-1950s, nails have been central to Uecker’s practice — not just as material, but as gesture and vibration, creating surfaces that pulse with tension.
Like in this work of 1964 titled “Feld” (Field) I acquired in 2010, alongside pieces by other artists from the ZERO group — a postwar movement that sought renewal through purity, silence, and the energy of light.

Aujourd’hui, en famille, nous célébrons 100 ans d’héritage depuis la naissance de Gilbert de Goldschmidt le 26 avril 1925 à Berlin.
Un père.
Un grand-père.
Il a nous a quitté il y a quinze ans après avoir traversé son époque avec discrétion mais détermination.
Après l’épreuve de la guerre, il choisit de bâtir, d’inventer, de produire. Il choisit le cinéma.
Aussi bien dans ses films qu’avec les siens, il a porté un regard lumineux sur le monde.
Ce regard, nous le portons aujourd’hui encore.
À travers les images, les souvenirs, les valeurs qu’il nous a transmis.
