Pop-up alert! The Tuesday before the start of lent is celebrated in many ways around the world from pancakes, cream filled buns, king cakes and other sweet doughy confections but where Meghan grew up in the Windsor/ Detroit area we celebrated the Polish way with a fried donut called a paçzki. We will be celebrating paçzki day tomorrow, Tuesday Feb 17 at the bakery. Donuts will be available starting at 10am. We will be doing 4-5 varieties of donut, coffee and tea. No bread. No other pastries. Come eat a donut and hangout on a Tuesday.
Heads up, we have decided to extend our reduced hours for the remainder of winter. We will be closed Thursdays until late March. We will be open every Friday to Sunday. A lot of hours of work happen behind the scenes here and to be open four days generally translates to a six or seven :)) day work week. This break gives us real weekends and the energy to get through the busy season. Thank you for understanding 🤝

GARDEN FRIENDS! I’m preaching the gospel of overwintering veggies this weekend at the last two pop ups of the season. I’ll be @francis_bread on Friday and @flourist on Saturday with tons of overwintering veggies for you to plant in your garden and so you can grow more of what you eat this winter and next spring! I’ve got cauliflower, purple sprouting broccoli, radicchio, chard, cabbage and onions, along with a few flowering perennials that can be planted right now for blooms next spring!
