Day in the life of a professional chef!
I live on a tiny island off the coast of British Columbia and need to fly into Vancouver for work all the time.
Today I was teaching a cooking workshop at North West Culinary Academy of Vancouver, my old cooking school.
All this travel wouldnât be possible without @harbourair , who make getting to the city so fast and easy. Without their service it would take me 6 hours to get to work instead of 20 minutesâŚwhich is an absolute game changer!

For many Romanians this would also probably be breakfast. But when Iâm in Romania, breakfast is is usually scrambled eggs with bread.
And this meal has always been lunch for me.
For Romanians living in North AmericaâŚ. Some of these ingredients are literal gold. Itâs been yearsâŚeven decades since some of us have tasted this stuff. And it really is the best!

As a chef, itâs alway fun to experiment with new dishes and new ways of cooking.
And this dish came to me in the moment when I was staring at all the oysters sand fresh stinging nettle.
Is it blasphemous? Probably. But who cares? It was incredibly delicious.
The subtle earthiness of the nettles and dairy were the perfect balance to the saltiness of the oysters.

We didnât have the Romanian Orthodox Easter that we usually do, when we cook a million things and have a huge feast.
Sometimes life gets in the way and you just donât have the time to do the things you want to.
But it was still nice hanging out with my mom

A weekend with new friends, beautiful nature, and the most incredible food.
The family and I had an incredible weekend on the Sunshine Coast with the @eatwild crew.
Itâs been our goal since moving to BC to become more self-sufficient when it comes to our food supply.
And the 4 days we spent out on the water with these guys was an amazing reminder of the incredibly bounty all around us.
Canât wait to get back out there to catch and cook with these guys again!
