This is ME on the red carpet at the Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild Awards this weekend. I got myself ready and I kind of wish I hadn’t! I had no idea that we were going to WIN! I kind of wish I hired @lyndsayzmakeup and had someone help me with my hair, and that I gave myself more time and didn’t go for a long run in the mountains that morning. That I got my whole family to watch it back home (but my little sister did and she cried)! God did put it on my heart to think of something to say a couple of days before, just in case, but all I got out was the most simplistic version of that. I’m just glad that I seem to have strung some words together up there. Bianca and Julie could not even hear what I was saying but I loved seeing the smiles on their faces when I watched it back. All of us blacked out and had no idea what we were doing or saying. When they called us, I felt like I was skydiving and just got pushed off of the plane, with no where else to go but up onto the stage somehow. I’m so glad that I got to do it with these girls, and actually I wouldn’t have gotten to do it without them because it was by their talents that we won. I really meant what I said about being in LA and I’m just kind of flabbergasted honestly by love of the craft. Every single person on set, the skill and professionalism is extraordinary. So good. Don’t ever doubt what God can do. We were up against the best talent in the industry which is why I didn’t think we had a chance, but God can move mountains. NTS for next time: be prepared to win!
