For Raj, person-centred care starts with listening. Raj is our Clinical Nurse Specialist with deep experience in spinal cord injury care, wound management and continence support. With extensive experience across hospitals, aged care and in the community, Raj understands that care is effective by working closely with people and understanding their needs first. Because great clinical care isn’t just about treatment. It’s about supporting people to live life their way. Every shift tells a story. 💛 Early mornings. Late nights. The in-between moments that often go unseen. Being a nurse is not just about clinical care, it’s about presence, patience, and showing up, again and again, for the people who need it most. At Forward, we see the impact our nurses make every day. The reassurance they bring. The trust they build. The quiet strength they carry through every interaction. This International Nurses Day, we simply want to say thank you. For every shift. For every moment of care. For everything you give. #SCI #ForwardAbilitySupport #EveryDayMatters #InternationalNursesDay #Nurses #HealthcareHeroes #Care #Community

This Mother’s Day, we’re reflecting on the many ways strength shows up. Sometimes, it’s in the quiet, everyday care. The advocacy. The resilience it takes to keep going, to keep supporting, to keep believing in what’s possible. And sometimes, it’s in redefining what motherhood looks like. @samjbloom knows this journey deeply. After her spinal cord injury, she faced the very real question of what it meant to be a mother to her sons. Through that experience, she has shown that motherhood is not defined by what changes, but by the love, presence, and possibility a mother brings into her children’s lives. @chithranipalipana carries another kind of strength. Following her son @dinesh.palipana 's spinal cord injury, she became a central pillar of support, and went on to become a disability counsellor and advocate herself. Her care has not only supported his journey, but has helped shape the path for so many others. These are just two stories within our much wider community. Mothers who care. Mothers who adapt. Mothers who open up new ways of living, not just for their children, but for everyone around them. Today, we recognise and honour the strength that often goes unseen, and the many ways motherhood in all forms continues to uplift and inspire. 💛 Happy Mother’s Day to all the mums out there. #SCI #ForwardAbilitySupport #EveryDayMatters #MothersDay #Community #Resilience #Inspiration #LiveWell

Community isn’t just a place. It’s the moments we share. At Ferguson Lodge, community is part of care. Good conversations, familiar faces, and time together help make every day matter. Our recent Ferguson Lodge Community Day was a beautiful reflection of that. A day spent together interacting with residents, listening to speakers generously share their experiences and creating shared moments that reflect belonging. Everything that makes life at Ferguson Lodge. Here are a few snapshots from the day! 📸 @cambloom | Forward and BrightSky Team #FergusonLodge #ForwardAbilitySupport #CommunityConnection #EveryDayMatters #LivingWellTogether #SCICommunity #CareThatConnects @samjbloom @kellykerley3 @fcukaroundandfindout_ @brightskyaustralia

Forward Ability Support and @BrightSkyAustralia are proud to be platinum sponsors of the National Continence Health Conference (NCHC) 2026, taking place 13–16 May in Melbourne. 🌿 Formerly known as NCOI, this event brings together multidisciplinary healthcare professionals, researchers, and leaders working in bladder, bowel and pelvic health care to share knowledge, explore innovations, and improve outcomes for people living with incontinence and related conditions. Continence care plays a vital role in supporting dignity, independence and quality of life and it’s an important part of the holistic care we provide every day. We’re excited to be there once again, and to connect, learn, and contribute to advancing care alongside so many inspiring professionals. Looking forward to seeing old faces and meeting new ones! This March, team members from BrightSky Australia and Forward Ability Support came together to take part in the March On Challenge — walking, running, and moving throughout the month to support the mental health and wellbeing of Australian veterans and their families. The challenge encourages participants to complete 96km during March, symbolising the length of the Kokoda Track. From lunchtime walks to weekend kilometres, our teams came together to support one another, stay active, and contribute to a meaningful cause. Every step counted. And together, we’re proud to have walked over 𝟱𝟲𝟭 kilometres and raised over $𝟮𝟱𝟬𝟬 directly contributing to vital mental health programs for our veterans. #ForwardAbilitySupport #BrightSkyAustralia #MarchOnChallenge #CommunityImpact #TeamForward #TeamBrightSky #SupportingVeterans #WalkForACause #StrongerTogether

Across our country today, stories of courage, service, and sacrifice are remembered and shared. ANZAC Day is a moment to pause, reflect, and honour the men and women who have served our nation, and the families who stand beside them. At Forward, we recognise and thank those who serve. Lest we forget. #AnzacDay #LestWeForget #RememberThem #HonourTheirService #Community

When people think about support, they often think about the big moments. But real care lives in the everyday ones. At Ferguson Lodge, support is there 24/7 — whether it’s help getting ready in the morning, assistance during the day, or reassurance in the quiet hours of the night. For residents, that means knowing someone is always nearby. Someone who understands their needs, respects their independence, and is ready to help whenever it’s needed. For many living with SCI, the right support is the kind you can rely on every hour of the day. It’s not just about care, but about comfort, confidence, and the peace of mind that comes from never having to face things alone. Is Ferguson Lodge the place for you?
