🔴 OPENING TONIGHT | Pilbara Strike: 80 Years On
Join us at Spinifex Hill Studio from 4:30 pm this evening for the opening of our pop-up exhibition marking 80 years since the 1946 Pilbara Strike, when 800 Aboriginal pastoral workers walked off stations across the north-west of WA in one of the most significant acts of resistance in Australian history.

Three years in the making. Five artworks. Four towns along the mighty Murray.
We’re proud to have delivered the River Country Art Trail in collaboration with Murray River Council - a series of large-scale silo murals and sculpture winding through Moama, Mathoura, Barham, and Moulamein in regional New South Wales.
Each work tells the story of the communities and landscapes that define this stretch of the Murray; from @t_w_o_o_n_e water tower mural in Moama, inspired by Yorta Yorta culture and the white-faced heron, to @dulk1 vivid celebration of the Murray’s ecosystem in Mathoura, @instaguss tribute to Barham’s pioneering history, and @heesco three-part portrait of Moulamein’s nature, agriculture and identity. Stuart Green’s monumental @big_spoon_art sculpture completes the trail with equal ambition.
Public art trails like this one do more than beautify a place. They build community pride, draw visitors to regions that rarely make the tourist map, and create long-term economic value for the people who call these towns home.
Congratulations to the artists, the team at Murray River Council, and our team who brought this to life.

That's a wrap on FRONT. 🎨
For two weeks, 140 Perth was taken over by curious kids, bold teens, and a whole lot of creativity. Mural painting, stop-motion animation, podcast storytelling, dance, nature craft, and so much more, all completely free.
Thank you to every young creative who walked through the door, every family who dropped in, and every facilitator, volunteer and partner who made it happen. You made this place feel alive.
See you next time. 💛
FRONT was produced by Scribblers Festival, an initiative of FORM. Proudly supported by by the State Government through the Department of Cultural Industries Tourism and Sport, Lotterywest, City of Perth and has been kindly sponsored by 140 Perth and Spinifex Trust.

We're inviting WA-based creative practitioners to establish the design narrative and themes for the redevelopment of Kwinana City Centre. This is a genuine seat at the table: artists will be embedded in the process from day one, shaping how the precinct looks, feels and functions.
Who we're forming:
A collaborative team of five; three artists, one design assist expert, and one cultural knowledge holder, working together through strategy and co-design.
How it unfolds:
An intensive on-site Creative Strategy workshop in June 2026 sets the agenda. From there, the team moves into a co-design phase to develop integrated concepts for the precinct.
The fee:
$5,000 for the strategy and co-design phases, with additional NAVA-aligned commissioning fees for concepts selected for fabrication.
We're particularly interested in creatives with ties to Kwinana or the south metropolitan corridor, but all WA-based artists with a collaborative, community-engaged practice are encouraged to apply.
📅 EOI closes 5pm Tuesday 12 May 2026

What a week!!!
Thank you to everyone who visited us last week during the AACHWA Revealed programming week and Art Market. It was so nice to see so many new and plenty of familiar faces.
This recap features our very own Revealed exhibiting artist Rekeshia Goodwin, seeing her work on the wall for the very first time with her mother by her side. Rekeshia’s artwork sold before the opening to the @artgallerywa State Art Collection 🤩🎉 We are so proud of her.
We are so grateful to have such amazing opportunities and to the fabulous team at @aboriginalartcentrehubwa for delivering such events.
