The queue was already stretching out the door before opening on buyers’ day, which is always a good sign. There’s a real buzz this season. The fair feels sharper, more focused, with dealers bringing pieces that have real presence. A few favourites:
A leopard-upholstered stool at @doriancaffotdefawes .
A 1930s Gaston Goor vase at @punchtheclock is beautifully balanced and quietly sensual.
Two hand-built vessels by Paul Philp at @form2017function , with surfaces that catch the light like stone.
A Martin Brothers vase at @two_poems , calm and almost modern in its simplicity.
And a sculptural mix of bronze, travertine and mirror at Nick Jones Antiques that pulled everything together. The @decorativefair continues to prove itself with a fantastic set of dealers and galleries. One of my favourites.
