My first piece of the year! For 2025, I wanna improve my work-life balance; with grad school taking up so much time, I wanna create a healthy balance between school, my personal life and creative endeavors like dance. With dance being a big outlet for me for so long, I definitely felt the effect of not having time for it, but it also makes the opportunities I get to dance a lot more meaningful. Super thankful for the opportunity to teach @909dt Fall Quarter Workshops! I haven’t taught a solo class in a while, cause I’ve been so busy with grad school 😭 but it felt so good to be able to get back into it and create, exchange, and express myself through movement. Just wanted to share the pieces in the set I had the opportunity to choreograph and collab on from this past weekend at @ultimatebrawl This was definitely one of the most ambitious sets I’ve had the pleasure of working on and developing. With this set, we wanted to tell a story that had meaning to us personally and artistically and just put on a production we could look back on and be proud of. This set means so much to me, not just because this was my last competitive set but because of how much of ourselves we poured into everything we put on stage. All those countless hours we put in and out of the studio. And how everyone was able to make this something of their own. This shit was hard, but it was also enjoyable and worth every second. So many memories were made, and I will forever cherish them all. 🫶 All the love and appreciation to my team @gooddanceco . It was because of you guys that this vision was able to come to life. And I will always be grateful to you all for putting in the work, coming in with a great mindset, and just making shit fun of me haha. This legit was one of the smoothest set building processes I’ve ever been apart of. YALL FUCKIN KILLED IT And I can never show enough appreciation to @bridgaaat & @_jonahperea_ this set could not have happened without y’all. “Project Name: TBD” presents: Tennessee Very late post, but this is the project I put together for last year’s Voyage Showcase 😫🖖 Always thankful for the opportunity @_outerclass and @lmnlspace_ give us to showcase our artistry. Everyone was so freakin amazing, I was soooo inspired by everyone’s work. This set is about the internal battle of imposter syndrome, moving through the stages of self-doubt, isolation, self-discovery, and acceptance. Got the opportunity to train the fam @gooddanceco this past Tuesday! I’ve been wanting to choreograph to this song for a while, so it felt like the perfect chance to create. This piece and the whole process felt like a much needed release both physically, mentally, and creatively. And I really wanted to reflect that “release” in the movement itself. Big shoutout to my outerclass homies @donny323chen and @kryztien.deza for being down to learn and assist! Y’all are unbelievably crazy 😫 And thank you to @gooddanceco for having me out! Our collab for @_outerclass set for UB! It was definitely a different kind of push creating this section with the goal of highlighting the music’s moments of intricacy, heaviness, and breath, and centering it all around the emotion of anger. 😡😡😡 Overall, we’re just super grateful for the opportunity to contribute to @mitchvrl ‘s vision. Lil dump from GOOD’s 10-year Gala It’s wild to think that I had been a part of the GOOD Project for basically seven years now. Going from a team member to Artistic Director then “retiring” 🤭, coming back to the team, and retiring again 🥸 GOOD has been such a big part of my life. It has been my 2nd home for so long and I’m so grateful to have experienced all that I have with so many unforgettable memories, and life-long relationships made along the way. It felt so surreal being able to see everyone from when I first joined up until now. It was like worlds colliding haha There’s just something so unique and special within this space, and it just keeps bringing us all back. HUGE THANK YOU to our fathers @coachrjulian & @robin_ching for creating this space and the rest of the Gala Committee @msshimmaayy @angela_banzon @_lactang @brianabui for all the hours planning, organizing, and being able to bring everyone together for such a fantastic night. Our goal was to teach the whole class how to do the “sprinkler.” We decided to throw in some choreo too!
