We loved celebrating Earth Day with our pals from Coconut Grove Elementary School at one of our favorite spots!
Huge thanks to Ms. Arsham and Ms. Koski for keeping this impactful tradition alive, bringing together a new crew of eco-warriors year after year for 5+ years and counting. Can't wait for next year!

Dusted off this sign to reveal a blast from the past. One of our volunteers found it bent in half, covered in mud deep in the mangroves during today's community cleanup on the key. #iykyk

Sun, salt, and a little purpose 🌊☀️
This past weekend in Key Biscayne, we teamed up with @fillabag to give back to the place we all love most, our beaches. What started as a cleanup turned into something more: learning about the island’s history, connecting with nature, and sharing a great morning with an even better community.
Every bag filled was a small step toward preserving the beauty of our coastline, and a reminder that when we show up together, impact follows.
Until the next one 🤝🌴
Well, it took a minute from the day she reached out in 2024, but thanks to Jess's perseverance and the support of Miami-Dade County Parks, Virginia Key's #dogbeach finally has a FILLABAG station! This one is extra special; dedicated to Phife, Jess's sweet dog, who loved his beach.

So, next time you swing through Hobie to walk your pup, launch from the @ridepadl_hobiesailclub , or just take in spectacular views of Biscayne Bay, grab a bucket and turn an ordinary walk into a meaningful cleanup.

Want to collaborate and activate a FILLABAG station in YOUR community? Do you have a favorite park, shoreline, or beach that needs a little love? Please give us a shout, let's make it happen. Oh, and it's free!

On Saturday, January 17, we returned to the Marine Stadium Basin to honor the life and legacy of Luciano Mercenari—transforming remembrance into action, and gratitude into care for the waters he loved. Together, we showed that Luc’s spirit lives on in stewardship, community, and the simple act of showing up.

Join us THIS Monday, December 29th for our last cleanup of 2025: the Bill Baggs State Park Mangrove Clean Up !
Sign up-> 🌐 kbcf.org/cleanup
The @KBCitizenScience Program, @FillABag , @MiamiEcoAdventures , and @FreePlasticOrg are celebrating their 4th year working together with enthusiastic and committed residents of all ages in impactful and unforgettable mangrove cleanups.
Registration is Required. Please go to kbcf.org/cleanup or visit the Link in our bio. There is important information there regarding kayak and SUP rentals, too. Thank you to @RidePADL for your support.
This will be a guided tour into Biscayne Bay and the mangroves to remove marine debris from this vital and hard-to-reach habitat.
This cleanup is particularly important as mangroves host many vulnerable species that live within these unique and diverse ecosystems.
Our event is funded through a generous grant from the Florida Inland Navigation District.
We will have water and snacks, plus some prizes to win after the clean up!
