Letting some emotions out here... ✨️ I recently saw an incredible dance performance to this song. I couldn't help but program it. I dreamt of giving each dancer a visual poi, and got my heart set on filming an epic LED dance collab video... but the project never came to life. My messages were left on read and the feeling of rejection was heavy 😔 I love to dance, but my skills are limited, and there are SO many talented dancers in my area. My dream of programming lights for dancers hasn't died, but I had to take a step back and reclaim this project for myself. I spent too many hours on this project to not share it 😅 Thank you to @tacoboutflow and @d0uch3am for playing around with this and encouraging me to do a buugeng & hoop track! D.E.L.V.E. performance snippet! 😍 8 dancers, 10 weeks, 20 rehearsal hours, 6 different props, 1 aerial apparatus, 10 pairs of pants sewn (@comfyjuggler 🙏), 8 shirts dyed & woven, Over 7000 flashes programmed, And countless other efforts went into this performance. I couldn't be more grateful to @isthmusdancecollective and @madisoncircusspace for this opportunity. 🫶 Thank you for involving me in this enormous project and seeing potential in my art. I have grown in so many ways from this process. I have watched our performance video so many times. I get goosebumps every time. Happy tears are common. This cast trusted my crazy vision and changed the way I look at myself. I'm not afraid to call myself a choreographer anymore. I have a lot to learn, but my art is turning into something special.
