Annual Mud Season reminder!! Let's help keep our trails in good shape while we wait for them to dry up again so we can hike or ride. Here's a few tips: 🥾Start small, ease back into hiking or riding. Get your laps in on the Summit County Rec Path, that way you can keep your feet dry! 🌞Stick to south facing trails, they melt out faster! 🦌Respect Wildlife Closures ⛰️If you have to hike in the mud, hike through it not around it, so the trail doesn't get wider. #summitcounty #nationalforest #whiterivernationalforest #fdrd #volunteer

We are proud to recognize Dan and Sherri as our Volunteers of the Month! 🌲 As Dan and Sherri prepare to move away from Summit County, we want to take a moment to recognize and thank them for their meaningful contributions to FDRD. Dan has been a dedicated Ski with a Ranger tour leader, sharing his knowledge and helping create engaging experiences for participants. Behind the scenes, he’s also made a lasting impact—working with his son to refurbish computers and donate laptops to support FDRD staff. Sherri has contributed as a Ranger Patroller and as a Casino Night dealer, supporting both our on-the-ground programs and fundraising efforts. Together, Dan and Sherri have supported FDRD in thoughtful and practical ways, and we’re grateful for the time and energy they’ve given to our organization. We wish them all the best in their next chapter! . . . #volunteer #summitcounty #fdrd #giveback #nonprofit

We were able to collect over 50 lbs of dog poop and remove it from our ecosystem and watershed! Next cleanup is scheduled for June 12th at Mayflower Gulch. Join us by signing up at FDRD.org!
