We might be halfway through January but it’s never too late to reflect on last year and look forward to the New Year. 2025 brought many things although on the surface it may not look like very much— a growing desire to slow down & breathe, new beginnings & endings, learning to treat myself like I would a friend, & once again getting to witness all kinds of love.

The Baltimore based team behind this shoot built a world that sits somewhere between Renaissance folklore and the haunted calm of Shakespeare’s Ophelia. They worked with candlelight, irregular textiles, sculptural florals, velvet, and a couple styled like they had stepped out of a painting. The mood came from a mix of rural myth, faded royalty, and a willingness to sit inside the strange.
Photographer Fairfoxes used the shoot to frame the direction of their recent rebrand, and leaned into historical influence with clear intention. “This year the wedding world often looked to history for inspiration this year”, photographer, Rachel, told us. “We believe in the enduring nature of this aesthetic, valuing heirloom quality, pleasing materials, and an innate ethereal beauty that has captivated the eye for centuries.”
