Being at the BMA open house this week had us looking back at this one immediately. ✨
Laura and Chris's wedding at the Baltimore Museum of Art is one that still comes up in conversation, and it starts with the dress. A floral cobalt blue gown with colorful accents that was so distinctly her that the entire design direction followed its lead. The bouquet, the stationery, the tablescape, the sweetheart table backdrop — all of design elements were built around what she was already bringing into the room.
When a bride walks in wearing something that confident, your job as a designer is to listen to it. And we loved every second of that process. This one will always have a special place for us. 🤍

To every mom we’ve planned alongside, celebrated with, and cried happy tears with, and to the mothers on our own team balancing this beautiful work while raising families of their own, Happy Mother’s Day! ❤️
One of the greatest privileges of this work is getting a front-row seat to motherhood in so many forms. The moms who came to every vendor meeting. The moms who spent the morning making sure everyone else was okay. The mom-to-be glowing at her baby shower. The grandmothers watching from the front row, taking it all in with the kind of love you could feel without a single word.
It is truly a gift to be invited into these moments and to witness this kind of love up close.

Some venues you choose. Others you grow up in.
Laura and Shawn got married at Laura's childhood home in Monkton, Maryland. The same property where they're now building their life together, just in a different house on the land. That detail alone says everything.
Their fall celebration wasn't about what was popular or convenient. It was about choosing a place that already held their story and building a day around that foundation. The ceremony happened by the family pond. And when it came time to exchange rings, they passed them through every single guest first — inviting everyone to be part of the moment, not just witness it.
That's the kind of decision that turns a beautiful wedding into an unforgettable one.
If you've been quietly wondering whether a family property could work for your wedding, the answer is probably yes. Let's talk. 💌

First look or no first look? Here's what we think.
Our bride wanted a first look moment before anything else — and it made for some of the most beautiful memories of her entire day.
Sound like something you'd want? It's worth considering if:
🤍 You want a moment that's just yours before the celebration begins. The rest of the day will be full, beautiful, and fast. A first look gives you a quiet second with each other before all of it starts.
🤍 You're looking for a little more breathing room. Couples who do a first look almost always have more flexibility in their portrait session and arrive at cocktail hour actually present.
🤍 You know your emotions will run high. A first look gives you a chance to reset, reconnect, and walk into your ceremony grounded instead of overwhelmed.
🤍 You have someone who deserves a moment too. A first look doesn't have to be just the two of you. Faith saw her dad and brothers first, and that moment set the tone for her entire day.
Not doing a first look is completely valid too. If the tradition matters to you, honor it. We'll build your timeline around it beautifully.
There's no wrong answer. There's only what feels right for you. If you're still not sure, send us a DM💌 — this is exactly what we love to help with.
