#OBSESSIONS volume 2026.4
Brooklyn-based artists Mo Bone (
@mobonestudio ) and Sasha Kolomatsky (
@eel_feet ) host weekly figure drawing sessions in a beautiful Soho studio and it has become my religion. The models are always fantastic and I’m so glad to have reconnected with my pencils and sketchbook. Come by one week and you’ll probably see me there!

I beg you
@hbomax , please turn this show into a special 🙏 Since exiting
@sohoplayhousenyc last summer after first watching
@morgankindof ’s ‘Can I Be Frank?’, a piece of myself still remains in that theater in awe of what Morgan accomplished. This tribute to Frank Maya is an extraordinary altar built on deep hilarity, exquisite f
@ggotry , and tenderly delivered bitter truths. This show is medicine for this moment.

If you need a feel-good show and a sense of camaraderie with strangers, go see Burnout Paradise at Astor Place Theater. You’ll feel exhilarated, secondhand anxiety, community with your row, and a touch of whimsy. It’s an impressive feat of endurance that might leave you wondering if you can run backward on a treadmill (you can’t). Go get tix, it’s running (lol) through June!

Get ready to move! Founded in 2023,
@practice_in_space is shaking up the dance scene with low-stakes, collective improvisation. What began as a small gathering has grown through word-of-mouth into a thriving network of 300 artists. This May and June, local artists will lead nine sessions open to the public—expect pure, ego-free experimentation that builds toward a wild, improvised performance in July.

Spring is in the air, and shirtless runners are in the streets. Is there a better way to usher in warmer weather than showing full sweaty bouncing torso to the world?! I sure can’t think of one. This is perhaps my favorite act of public sluttery, and it comes at the perfect time when I’m really getting back into my running grind.
