Mosey on by FACILITY before March 27th for a sidewalk viewing of ZJ Pan’s “Jeez, I Can’t Find My Knees.” @willpan_ | @faust_____specialprojects | @nickcaveart 📸 Don Yoshida _____________________________________________________ Pan works with sculptures, installations, performances, and electronics to curate playgrounds. Like a child’s half-finished thoughts, impulsive yet stirring, his work are vessels that deflate trauma, shocks, and simulations. Pan investigates the mediated uncanniness propagated through social media, news, and everyday experience under the looming ghosts. Pan animates objects’ forms and functions in a DIY approach, where familiar objects are digitally engineered and childishly treated. These objects induce shocks in his life, such as missiles, his middle school, Apple’s AirPods, sad looking stuffed animal, and frogs singing in hell, eliciting a reaction that starts with laughter and then evolves from unease to disturbance

I’M THEM 4.20.19—1.1.20 A Facility art/work by Bob Faust @faust_____specialprojects 📸 @james.prinz Continuing our participation in #FallOfFreedom, a nationwide cultural movement uniting artists, institutions, and communities in celebration of creative expression and solidarity. Join us as we take part this November 21-22, using our voices, art, and energy to stand against censorship and celebrate freedom. Follow @FallOfFreedom to learn more. ***”I’m Them” is the inaugural installation of the Tarp Project, hanging on the southernmost facade of Facility. It is a typographic response to an Us vs. Them problem. By embedding the word ‘I’M’ into the word ‘THEM, Faust asks the viewer to see themselves outside of their own tribe in an attempt to dismantle the separation and subsequent judgment brought on by ignorance.

REMINDER to drop by 3616 N Milwaukee Ave. tomorrow (11/9) from 2-4 PM for the OPENING RECEPTION for ZJ Pan’s “Jeez, I Can’t Find My Knees.” Brave whatever weather is expected to experience the works up close and personal, with Easter eggs aplenty. It’s a great opportunity to see art, meet the artist, socialize and get involved in Facility’s growing community gallery scene. If for some reason you can’t be there, don’t fret, the show is up for sidewalk viewing through March 27, 2026. @willpan_ @faust_____specialprojects @nickcaveart

🧂melts 🧊 @tanyaquick ’s installation at @facility_chicago layers video, silk, and literal piles of salt to ask what it means to be “worth our salt.” It’s soft, haunting, and, as ICE shows up in Chicago and protests flood the streets, suddenly not so quiet. Open now, free for all, ending Saturday. 👉 Plus, check out the link in bio for our resource to community safety amid current raids.
