Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, artists and cultural workers have been facing existential challenges. It is therefore even more remarkable that, despite these circumstances, subcultural institutions and artists have resumed their activities – both in Ukraine itself and in exile.
The event at the taz Kantine is dedicated to club culture as a social and political space:

Ewa Nomad (Kyiv -> Berlin) is a Ukrainian DJ, sound producer and co-founder of the Nowa project, which aims to raise funds and humanitarian aid for people affected by the war. Since the war Ewa was forced to relocate from Kyiv to Berlin. She creates soundscapes for video campaigns of both Ukrainian and international fashion brands, seamlessly blending the worlds of fashion and music. Her approach to sound production is always innovative and she is known for pushing the boundaries of what is possible in this field. Her Dj set is an experimental trip to deep techno, electro, mixed with broken beat and driving percussion. Whether you are a fan of techno music or simply enjoy innovative and experimental soundscapes, Ewa’s DJ sets are not to be missed.
