astrid hubbard flynn is an autistic, nonbinary, white settler descended from Irish ancestors, living on Dakota land in so-called Minneapolis, Minnesota. In addition to writing songs and vocalizing for Musicians for Birds and Related Animals, they perform solo noise music as Asteroid, and co-facilitate the Handmade Noise Fun Club at Seward Cafe.
Emily Alexander Otte is a physicist and musician from South Minneapolis. Her areas of practice include noise, jazz, and folk idioms. In addition to being Musicians for Birds and Related Animals’ synthesist, she performs solo as a singer/songwriter.
Ian Forkey (bass) is an eclectic sound artist who explores the strange borderlands between structure and dissolution. In his solo electronic work, he constructs songs that squirm, shimmer and occasionally disappear into themselves. When he’s not performing, he’s likely enjoying a cup of French press coffee and pondering the mysteries of existence.
Will Ennis is an experimental musician and ceramicist based in Minneapolis. In addition to playing drums and sax in musicians for birds and other animals, they are one half of the ambient/noise duo blood bath and beyond.
