The Southbank Centre in London presidents ‘Multitudes: A Multi-Arts Festival, Powered by Orchestral Music’
On April 22nd I’ll reunite with the boundary-breaking musicians of
@orchestraoftheageenlightenment , in collaboration with #Squidsoup (
@squidie ), pioneers in the use of light, sound and technology, for ‘Echoes of Hill and Horizon.’ Our program features hallmarks of late English Romanticism: Ralph Vaughan Williams’s ‘Lark Ascending’ and ‘Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis’, Edward Elgar’s ‘String Serenade’ and Peter Warlock’s ‘Capriol Suite’.
Harnessing the Queen Elizabeth Hall’s experimental sound system—Concrete Voids—the OAE’s soundscape and Squidsoup’s interactive lights will envelop the senses. Virtuoso violinist Kati Debretzeni is the soloist in Vaughan William’s ‘Lark.’
Can’t wait to kick off a spring and summer of projects with the OAE… soon after the
@southbankcentre program, rehearsals begin
@glyndebourne for Mozart’s ‘Die Entführung aus dem Serail’. Sir David McVicar’s celebrated production opens July 31 and runs through 28 August.
