Impressive work from @orchestraoftheageenlightenment conducted by @evanrogister + Squidsoup (@squidie ) creating a visual feast of 16,128 tiny lightbulbs, illuminating the sublime programme of pastoral music including Vaughan Williams and Elgar + the inventive use of our ‘Concrete Voids’ surround-sound system, masterminded by @tonydbirch , enhancing the music with cathedral-esque acoustics complete with birdsong. Sublime.
‘Echoes of Hill and Horizon’ was part of ‘Multitudes’ – @southbankcentre ’s multi-arts festival powered by orchestral music.

We’ve been immersing ourselves in the music of Vaughan Williams, Elgar and an enigmatic Peter Warlock in preparation for an upcoming collaboration with the #orchestraoftheageofenlightenment at @southbankcentre on 22 April. We’ll have about 16,000 points of light suspended from the ceiling of the QEH to accompany the orchestra in what we’re planning to be a surround sound surround light experience. /whats-on/echoes-of-hill-and-horizon/

We often think back to the @fourtetkieran gigs at Ally Pally last year - fantastic memories! He’s releasing the gig recording on limited edition vinyl pressing, and we thought we’d celebrate by replaying the lights at our current Shoreditch exhibition.

Very excited to announce our next solo exhibition, entitled Lost in Light, opening in Shoreditch, London on 25 October. The exhibition space is new - it’s at 118 Curtain Road, Shoreditch London (UK) – and deliberately retains elements of the grungy feel of 90’s Shoreditch .
For us, the location has a beautiful circularity to it, as it is no more than a stone’s throw from where Squidsoup started in nearby Hoxton Square then Rivington Street, back in 1997. Returning to our old stomping ground has brought the memories flooding back…
The exhibition is curated by the wonderful @philippa.adams_
LOST IN LIGHT will showcase five Squidsoup works and include two world premieres. The works on display are Circular Echoes (2022), Infinite (2024 - premiere), Three Volumes (2024 – premiere), Sola (2024 edition) and an updated version of Submergence (2013-16).
