#OpenCall: Get inspired to submit your work to our Guest Room with the theme; “Wortbildsalat / word-image-salad”, an invitation to create a communal visual poem. This theme draws inspiration from #Surrealist salons, reflecting the artistic practices of figures such as #AndréBreton and #MarcelDuchamp, who famously collaborated on “cadavre exquis” or “exquisite corpse” creations, merging words or drawings as seen here.Christiane Monarchi (@cpmonarchi ), the founding co-editor of Hapax Magazine (@hapaxmagazine ) and founding editor of Photomonitor (@photomonitor.co.uk ), is teaming up with curator Eva Eicker (@eva_eicker ), an expert focusing on social and cultural issues for critical engagement with contemporary photography, to curate your work. Artists are invited to submit images accompanied by a caption. We welcome you to share an inner experience of the submitted photograph with us and join in crafting a photographic “Wordbildsalat / word-image-salad”. Each day’s curation of selected images will generate an experimental image-based poem. In juxtaposing the internal and visible world, this Guest Room curation will be an artwork in its entirety, unfolding as a 15-part love letter to inner worlds accessed through the photographic. We are awarding our #GuestRoomScholarship: an artist stipend of 1.000 € to one of the selected submitters of each upcoming Guest Room. The Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize 2022 @nationalportraitgallery is now open 💫 It has been special curating this year’s prize. I hope you enjoy getting a glimpse into people’s life exploring important themes such as knife violence, mental health, loneliness, environmental and immigration issues - as well portraying and celebrating the L.G.B.T.Q.I.A.+ community. I also curated the In Focus section featuring Jeano Edwards’ new project shot in the Dominican Republic. He is interested in the notion of home and understanding a place with a strong emphasis on collaboration. Thanks to all photographers for sharing your work, it has been a joy!
