| When ETA closed in 2023, I spent a lot of time talking about it with #jaybellerose. He spoke often about the interesting social convention that "jazz" is always in support of some sort of restaurant/lounge business...and usually, one of two things happen:
1. The restaurant becomes so popular that the band is relegated to background music, regardless of how insanely talented the band is.
2. The band becomes so popular it outgrows the restaurant/lounge and requires a bigger and better stage.
Flash forward to when
@jeffparkersounds ETA IVtet finally played these sold out nights at
@lodgeroom , it was an immense relief that this amazing band having spread its sound globally was now returning to Highland Park and could finally accommodate this homecoming on a proper STAGE, not just some damned corner of the room where only 12 people could see Jay using his ankle egg shakers...
Congratulations on Jeff,
@buttersscup @joshuaajohn and Jay as they continue their truly unique, distinct sound on this new album! Also huge shout to
@brycegonzales /
@highlanddynamics and
@pixostrangers as they continue to document these events and capture this important moment of 21st century art music, all with the amazing support of neighborhood hero
@like_pippen and the whole team at
