when you're home with a cold and you begin some low-key archiving. -this is a 30 year old catalog from the AIM (Artist in the Marketplace) Program @bronxmuseum -i've been coveting this since 1996--forever-lost my copy from so long ago. Recently, out of the blue i received an original copy in the mail from @matthewffisher who i still have yet to meet. This is for all my friends--and kisses to my nibling, who have all lost their mothers, and/or had difficult relationships with their #Maman (cite #LouiseBurgeois). And for the mothers who have lost children. Back in February i attended this talk by @brengoodman@ny_studioschool and learned how to channel pain and complex love into profoundly moving art. my favorite art opening to date. i need more grillin' n chillin' in my art life! full disclosure: when artists @jimleestudio and @tommy_white27 invited me to show @clearsky.nyc they shared that they'd be grilling hot dogs with kimchee fixings--kimchee? i was all-in (and i haven't eaten a hot dog in decades). My little solo presentation "All the King's Horses" opened yesterday--and, as if on cue, the morning rainy skies cleared away and the sun came out for a perfect crisp spring day. ended the night with delicious tacos and lots of talking (and laughing).
