Honored to share that our Pebble Beach restoration and renovation has won a 2026 Julia Morgan Award in the “Residential Architecture” category from the Institute of Classical Architecture and Art. We’re so appreciative of the recognition from @icaanocal and @classicist_org , and especially to chapter president Nancy O’Connor and this year’s jurors. Our goal was to thoughtfully update and preserve this c.1914 redwood-shingle Arts and Crafts residence, one of the last of its kind in the area. We repaired or matched as many original details as possible and gave the home’s interior a more functional layout, including relocating the kitchen, designing a new family room where an old porch stood, detailing a new interior for the living room, creating a dining room that doubles as a billiards room, and integrating a new, expansive second floor as a primary suite and study. Thanks so much to CT @cottagesgardens , @djcandg , mary_b_fitzgerald, and @davidmasello for featuring our Georgian Revival-inspired residence in the latest issue.  We worked with @justin.b.quinn of @jamesdoyledesignassociates  on this exterior restoration-renovation, designing a latticed pergola and Chippendale-style mahogany balusters and handrails. As the main house is a full story up, we reworked one of the entry stairways to include three stone landings, making it a bit more accessible. As with many clients, the family kitchen in our California Georgian project is the true center of activity. To enhance this hub, we extended the space with a forged-steel-and-glass conservatory that serves as a sun-drenched breakfast porch and informal dining area. Designed with a family-centric approach, the kitchen at our Lakefront Beaux-Arts project features a central family dining table and lounge seating. Planning this room's central location offers seamless access to the entry hall, living and dining areas, and one of the apartment's balconies, establishing the kitchen as the most active and connected space in the apartment.
