Meet Nerida. One of the founders of Empress FX.
Neridaâs path into Makeup FX started in Australia, her art quickly grew into something much bigger than a single specialty. Rather than staying in one lane, sheâs built her career by doing a bit of everything - designing, sculpting, mould making, painting, hair punching, makeup application, sewingâwhatever the job calls for, sheâs in it.
Since relocating to BC, she has contributed to a range of standout productions, including Shogun, The Stand and The Grudge.

Ellie started her career overseas in London, UK. Throughout her career, she has worked in a variety of departmentsâset dressing, prop making, and puppetry, to name a few. She has worked on renowned films and shows such as Wes Andersonâs *Isle of Dogs*, *Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them*, and *Game of Thrones*. Her proudest credit to date, however, might just be adding snow to the Hogwarts Castle model. Sheâs obsessed with all things miniature and with perfecting fine details. Ellie brings unrivalled precision to every project.

From a standard 12x12 office to a medieval stronghold. đ°
Early last year, we teamed up with @thecampfire.ca to design and build a fully immersive D&D environment. The goal was a modular âcastleâ interior that could be disassembled if the group ever moved locations.
The Build Highlights:
Structure: Custom wood framing with walnut laminate flooring.
Walls: Hand-carved and textured insulation foam rock formations.
Features: Integrated LED-controlled windows, a custom arched door, and a concealed TV swinging panel for digital maps.
Finishes: Faux-painted stone, sculpted foam âwoodenâ beams, and custom ceiling panels.
The space is now hosting weekly campaigns and walk-in sessions. Huge thanks to Jed for letting us push the limits on this one.

Sweet enough to eat! đ§â¨
We teamed up with Capitol Media Co. & @parkpictures to turn @eosproducts into a walking dessert. Our mission: an outfit that looked like pure frosting.
The Recipe:
The Tech: We piped silicone into âicingâ ribbons and cast them in Soma Foama to fabricate a lightweight, flexible sweater
The Fit: A custom lifecast ensured the frosting wig fit perfectly while hiding Samâs braids.
The Details: Foam cupcake space-buns rigged to clip directly into her hair.
