When I was a younger man I was quite content being single and assumed I would remain that way the rest of my life. Then I met Krista and something came alive inside me that I didn’t know was there. Fast forward a few months and life couldn’t have got any better as we jumped headfirst into marriage. I always assumed we’d have kids, but wasn’t in any hurry because life with Krista was amazing. After several more years we decided it was time, but as months of trying to have children turned into years we learned that there are some things in life that you don’t get to decide the timing on. Hopes turned into weeping and doctors appointments turned into confusing rollercoasters, but God was working behind the scenes the entire time and perhaps He wanted to dream about Milo and Ruby juuuuust a little bit longer before calling them forth into this world. I wasn’t sure what to expect once I became a father, but soon after I realized that as amazing as my life had been - one that was truly blessed and I was extremely grateful for - I realized that I had been living life in 2-D. Having a son, and now a daughter too has added an entire dimension that I didn’t know existed. Although it’s just scratching the surface I think I am beginning to understand the vast and wonderful complexities of life with God as I get to simultaneously live through myself, through my marriage, through each of my children, and through our family as a whole. It’s really hard to put into words, but this must be what it’s like to experience heaven on earth. If you are blessed with the opportunity to marry an incredible woman and have children together, I highly recommend it.
