Through new symbolist languages and the imagination of magical realism, the works are permeated by the ambiguity of a mystified world and its unsettling drifts. They function like relics of the memory of our childhood tales, while at the same time slipping into troubling territories that subvert the familiarity of these stories. I’m very happy to invite you to my first solo show in New York, Whims of Panspermia, in DIMIN’s living room gallery @dimin.nyc presented with Brigitte Mulholland Gallery @brigittemulhollandparis Whims of Panspermia explores the dissolution of boundaries. Panspermia is conceived here as a cosmic deposit, while the whim represents the unpredictable “drift” of the clay as it settles, repeats, and varies. Opening Reception

Oaxaca in my heart Our journey began in Santa María Atzompa with el maestro Muñoz, who welcomed us into his home and studio. The village is known for its green glazed ceramics and for the preservation of long-standing ceramic traditions. He works with a mixture of local clays—barro negro, barro rojo, and barro bajo—and specializes in large jars used for ancestral mezcal, traditionally distilled in clay pots. We then visited Taller Ruiz López @taller_ruizlopez , a multigenerational family workshop where ceramic knowledge is passed down through time, each piece carrying both technical mastery and cultural memory. An hour outside Oaxaca, Taller Manos Que Ven @tallermanosqueven brought us into the world of José García alongside his wife and eleven family members. Every member of the family works with clay, yet each has developed a distinct specialty, resulting in a diversity of sculptural approaches within a shared material. Even the kiln itself stands as a sculptural object in its own right. The surrounding garden is filled with José García’s mentras, - “El amor es más fuerte que la muerte” embedding poetry into the landscape. On the way back, we stopped in San Bartolo Coyotepec to discover barro negro, the symbolic black clay of the region. Since the 1950s, this clay has become recognizable for its distinctive polished, almost metallic surface, achieved by burnishing with a quartz stone before firing. First trip to Oaxaca, and feeling deeply grateful for the encounters along the way. Each visit revealed a different relationship to clay, territory, and tradition.
