Kiss Facility are rewriting the rules of shoegaze, fusing Arabic lyrics with walls of noise and a partnership that refuses to fit any box. For Dazed MENA Issue 02, @mayahalkhateri and Salvador Navarrete (also known as @segabodega ) open up about the bedroom beginnings of their sound and what it means to stay honest when the world keeps asking for labels.
“For me, it’s all about rage and sadness and whatever is happening. It just makes me really mad, so we make Kiss Facility music, and I try as much as I can to turn the rage and sadness into hope because we don’t want sadness. I want people to feel a sense of hope at the end of the day,” Mayah shares.
