mumbai, you really never disappoint . had to be there this weekend because elemental was absolutely buzzing with things happening and honestly it felt like the city was just showing off. Jason @positive_.tl from @theenigma.saigon came down to take over the sahib room at @stregismumbai and even though he's been to mumbai before, i think this trip was different. pretty sure the city got him this time around, because he found his fish and we mean that literally. the surmai at maasli saraswat has a very new, very devoted fan. and then Daniele @trombelli.daniele & Mali @m.alika.aa of @bar.san.chiangmai wrapped up their shift at @sienna_calcutta and flew straight down to mumbai to turn @ekaamumbai into a bar for one night only. no big deal, just a full venue takeover on a wednesday. that night is tonight by the way, 13th may from 9pm so if you're reading this, you already know what to do. @bare.bombay had its own moment going on too. Andrew @andrewbartender and Timofei @certified_indoor_kid were back in town to launch a brand new cocktail menu and Chef Marisha @marisha.shukla came through with a special food menu to match the energy. some things just work better together. and this is honestly just the tip of what's coming. watch this space. 💆

We did a simulation last night and it came through. We didn’t expect it, the bar stools came one hour before service, the exhaust gave up, the AC might have once too, but we all pushed and few of our friends “found” us. find, will be a little hard to (find) and we would like to keep it this way. It’s nestled somewhere inconspicuously in a building in this city and we are planning to open out our reservation slots from 30th. You will experience @matteociarpa ’s smashable drinks & @sienna_calcutta ’s smashable food. No other heavy concept. We try to play some good tracks and the boys (and girl) are eager to see guests, all of you! There will be a clue…

some of the most unforgettable evenings begin with a simple idea — what happens when we hand over the kitchen? with s o u s w i t h, we invited some of india’s most exciting sous chefs to take over the sienna kitchen, each one crafting a menu that was entirely their own conceived with @elemental.inc in collab with @hapusagin the series set out to bring new culinary voices to calcutta, while placing the city back on the map as a destination for thoughtful, evolving hospitality. at its heart, it’s about the sous chefs — often the unseen forces behind kitchens — stepping forward to tell their stories through food from @chefnikhilmenon (@mizuizakaya.mumbai ) and chef @chinappa03 (@seefah_hillroad ), to chefs @shivmandrwal and murali (@masquerestaurant @barparadoxmumbai ), and chef @__shauryaaaaaa__ (@kaspers.bombay ) — what unfolded was more than a collaboration, becoming a conversation between cities. to the chefs — thank you for trusting us with your stories and to everyone who joined us — you made these nights what they were. Back again. Part two of a very long rant of what we’ve been up to at elemental. Bombay’s been on a bit of a tear lately. All our favourite brands either showing up, taking over, or just adding to the madness. We kicked things off with @haawmbkk landing at (Bombay) Daak. Probably the most impossible supper club to get into out of Bangkok , suddenly doing its thing in Mumbai. Proper Thai but through a Bombay Duck lens albeit local, loud and a little unhinged (like @d.eitharong ) 💅 Then came @kampong.colombo from Colombo building which is easily one of the most exciting cocktail bars coming up in Sri Lanka. First of many, calling it now. And they were at @bombay.daak ! Somewhere in between all of this, we had Shiv and Murali from @masquerestaurant pull up for our “Sous With”. And as of literally yesterday… India’s best restaurant!! (🥳). Timing couldn’t have been better. And because we don’t know how to slow down, Bandra showed up next, literally next. @greshamfernandes (😉) and Chef Manoj took over @sienna_calcutta After Hours, and then brought that very specific, very Bandra energy to Rannaghor. If you know, you know. Sigh, need a drink.

WHERE HAVE WE BEEN!!! We have been a little quiet here lately and that’s because we didn’t know building a bar was soooooooooo easy 😏. While we’ve been deep in ahem ; our space, and the many third spaces we collaborate with has been anything but still. Over the past months, the journey has taken us from Sri Lanka to Milan to Mumbai and Bangalore. At @sagohouse.sg pop up in Mirissa, @bathrobebandit and Norm brought the spirit of the Colombo Cocktail Club for a special takeover. Gabrielle from @1930cocktailbar stepped behind the bar at the Sahib Room at St. Regis Mumbai. In Kolkata, Chef Chinmay reinterpreted dishes inspired by @seefah_hillroad and @khaomangai_byseefah through the lens of his hometown cooking. In Bangalore, Hong Kong’s one-Michelin-star restaurant Louise (@louise.hkg ) brought Chef @loic_portalier and his team to Le Cirque at The Leela Palace, serving nearly a hundred guests over two nights. And at the Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai, Chef Ricardo from Mono (No. 24 - @theworlds50best ) introduced his bold Latin American cooking for an intimate two-night takeover. Wait for part two, we have a lot to tell!

We opened a half done bar for a friend last night. It was fun, I mean we freaked out about a thousand things not being in place, but the drinks turned out great and the team got motivated beyond sawdust and paint smell… the curtain fell on our head in the afternoon, but the ten odd people who walked in didn’t know what hell we went through till five pm. we are opening soon I guess

let us tell you a story, we thought we'd open last month but the contractors from the city made it impossible to do so, obviously. so we took it upon ourselves to sort sh*t out and it's happening. we are super excited to show you what we've been working on.
