One week since Undergrowth closed @countyhallpottery and we've had some downtime to look back at the show and feel really proud of what we managed to achieve! We started off with an inkling of an idea which grew into something much bigger and became the immersive grid structure you've seen us posting about on here!
.
Absolutely none of it would have been possible without the amazing team @countyhallpottery who championed our ideas and made them happen. It feels so rare to get to work with such a supportive, cohesive team especially when so much of the work we do, we do alone. So grateful for this opportunity and excited for what comes next! ✨thank you:

On show @countyhallpottery until March 8. On Sunday (22 February) I'll be teaching a masterclass in the afternoon and I'll also be about in the gallery in the morning if anyone fancies a chat or an ad-hoc tour!
Masterclass: Handbuilding from Extrusion
with Elizabeth Jackson 🏺✨
Sunday 22 February 2026 | 2–5pm
As part of our current exhibition Undergrowth, curator Elizabeth will guide you through creating a hand-built sculptural piece using extruded clay forms, exploring what happens when you build with clay at different stages of readiness.
You’ll extrude your own clay elements and combine them with prepared pieces, learning how soft clay behaves differently to leather-hard clay. Working with both states helps you understand structure, joining, and balance, and how time, moisture, and intention can shape a form. The session is designed to encourage experimentation and play, with outcomes that reflect both material knowledge and your own expression.
Beginners are very welcome.
This is a rare chance to learn directly from an artist exhibiting in UNDERGROWTH. We encourage you to visit the exhibition before the class to feel inspired. Liz will introduce a range of extruders (wall mounted, handheld, and more) and share practical insights into controlling free-flowing forms, alongside techniques she has developed in her own practice.
At the end of the session, you’ll choose one form to be fired, with the option to leave it unglazed.

UNDERGROWTH opens tonight at County Hall Pottery 🌿✨
We’re beginning the exhibition with a spotlight on one of its curators, Elizabeth Jackson @ejacksonjackson who lives and works in London.
Elizabeth graduated with a BA Fine Art from Central Saint Martins (2013) and an MA Ceramics & Glass from the Royal College of Art (2021). Her work has been shown internationally and across the UK, including the Ingram Prize and the British Ceramics Biennial.
Using visceral language as a catalyst for intuitive making, Elizabeth creates compositions of cast objects and handbuilt gestures. Her forms invite visual association and intrigue, oscillating between the everyday and the abstract, the familiar and the otherworldly. At the heart of her practice is an embodied way of knowing, where meaning is discovered through making and through the transformation of clay.
For Undergrowth, Elizabeth began by gathering words, objects, and experiences that speak to undergrowth as both physical presence and philosophical idea. She reflects on companion planting, unexpected strength, collective support systems, roots growing around brick, and the quiet forces that persist beneath the surface. The works on show translate these experiences into a language of their own, holding ambiguity, connection, and endurance.
We can’t wait to show you her work, along with that of eight other artists. Opening tonight at 6 pm. See you there!

Install week at County Hall Pottery 🌿💜
Here’s a timelapse from the set-up for our upcoming exhibition UNDERGROWTH.
A lot happens before the doors open. Preparing a show like this involves days of moving plinths, painting walls and floors, adjusting lighting, testing sightlines, careful placements, and many small decisions that bring the exhibition into focus.
It’s detailed, hands-on work, but it’s also the part we really enjoy: working together, solving problems, and shaping the space until it feels right. We’re genuinely excited for this to be our first exhibition of 2026.
UNDERGROWTH opens with a Private View on 12th January Monday night, 6–9pm, and we’d love to welcome you.
Come by for a first look, meet the artists, connect with the community, and celebrate the opening with us.
Book your free ticket, link in bio. ✨
