“Impressions: Printmaking by: Matt Brown, Daryl Storrs & William Hays (
@williamhhays103 ) opens today, Nov 8,
@edgewatergalleryvt on the Falls, One Mill Street, #MiddleburyVT; there’s an open reception at 3 p.m. followed by an artist talk.
Mays, along with his wife, Nina Rossi (
@ninamorfati ), are profiled by Marjorie Kaye in our latest issue.
“Hays’ printmaking is process-oriented, introspective and methodical,”
@kaye.marjorie writes. “He mixes the precise beauty of the landscape with the slight stream of the extraterrestrial stemming from his own personal visual revelations.
“Hays has been focused on the landscape for over 54 years. The constant in his heart and mind had always been the transcendent beauty of the landscape. His quest became the search for a personal voice, one that manifested in the direct transmission of the overwhelming awe felt amid the natural world. He realized that he had honed his technical skill but continued to search for his individual essence.”
Hays work can also be seen in two current exhibitions: “Formed by Impression,” on view through November 21 at the #deMenilGallery
@grotonschool #GrotonMA; and “Ink & Impressions: 110 Years of the Society of American Graphic Artists (
@sagaprintsnyc ),” where it can be seen through Feb. 13
@housatonicmuseumofart #BridgewaterCT

@GalleryInTheWoods #BrattleboroVT, which also displays the work of Nina Rossi.
