Feels like winter showed up in my studio today. I have been having a hard time adjusting to the reality of the change of seasons this year. I just didn’t want to say goodbye to summer. This painting is helping me remember the beauty of the coming season of darkness.

The light is definitely changing. Much as I love summer, I also love fall. One of the things I really look forward to it my workshop at the Artist Assoc. of Nantucket @ackartists . Sept. 16-18. It is the perfect time to visit Nantucket, the weather is (usually) gorgeous and the island is back to its old self after the craziness of July and August. There is a link in my linktree to sign up. East Coast-based and nationally represented, Julia’s vibrant but restrained palette and the quality of light in her paintings harken to the Skagen and Funen painters of her ancestral Danish homeland. Jensen’s oils are gestural, expressive, full of energy and motion.

This month we welcome the work of East Coast-based artist @juliajensenstudio who will be showing her work in Chicago for the first time. We will have an opening for the exhibit, “Poised Between,” on July 11 from 5-7 pm. Stop in and see these lovely paintings!
