Our label is proud to unveil “Where The Black Sand Burns”! A new original motion picture soundtrack by @jrdnplrss that pushes further into an experimental, ambient‑driven sound world, and moving gracefully from quiet, introspective moments to expansive, cinematic climaxes.
“Where The Black Sand Burns” is a 20‑minute short film directed by @loreloyens . It premiered in February 2025 and won “Best Film” at Filmfestival Oostende.
The soundtrack is a journey through sound and cinema—acting as a third main protagonist, “the Volcano”, that is always present throughout the film. Rousseau weaves low volcanic drones into the ethereal score moving from ambient experimentation and atmospheric cues to a vibrant finale bursting with alternative rock, shoegaze, post‑rock, and psychedelic energy. Across these lush, layered textures, Jordan Paul Rousseau shapes a score that stands on its own: a cinematic listening experience that invites you to step into the film’s world, even with your eyes closed.

As I said in an interview via @jointhepressure , this track means : "you have the power, every day and every moment, to start fresh, to keep smiling, to find happiness in what is, and to discern reality from your own perceptions."
