Echosystems ‘Solar EP’ is out now 🌞 🎶
@echosystemuk@makandpasteman ‘These tracks came together in our York studio, a narrow room we call “the bobsled.” Everything was built hands on, jamming hardware, reshaping ideas and chasing movement until the tracks felt alive. We wanted the melodic parts to sit front and centre without losing the weight and energy needed for the club. There’s a reflective side to the EP, but it’s still very much built for the dancefloor. Big love to Dusky and the 17 Steps team for backing this next chapter and giving these records a home’
Yesterday was a big day at @echosystemuk HQ! Our Saints EP dropped on Realm to overwhelming support across the DSPs. DJ feedback has blown us away and to top it off, the legend @petetongofficial played ‘Fate’ last night on his @bbcradio1 Dance show. When we started this project it was about expression and creativity, no big expectations! To receive this support for music we’ve poured our hearts into means the world. @echosystemuk land on Dusky’s 17 Steps with the Solar EP, showcasing their forward thinking, emotive sound.
The tracks were built in their York studio, a tight space they call “the bobsled,” and you can feel that hands on approach throughout. Hardware driven, full of movement and texture, with melodic elements sitting forward while still carrying enough weight for the club. There’s a reflective edge, but it never loses sight of the dancefloor.
Mak & Pasteman’s roots go back to the early 2010s, and that foundation is still there. After some time away, this new chapter alongside Arkive feels more dialled in. Recent releases on Realm and their own Midas imprint have pointed this way, with more coming on Shall Not Fade. Dusky’s backing feels like a natural next step.
