Highlights from the epic El Niño 2023/24 winter in the North Pacific. This one was really special for me. I rode some of the biggest and most perfect waves of my life, and felt like I climbed my own personal mountain. What made it extra sweet was my health- physical, mental, and spiritual. After many years of not feeling my best, I felt I was able to reach another level. I’m so grateful for all the people who have helped me heal, re-pattern and rewire, and develop an insane bag of tools to respond to adversity, flow with life, and perform at my best. Thank you @thrilleratkillers team and @garylinden for putting on the event of my lifetime. What an honor to share the inaugural Thriller with so many legends of big wave paddle surfing- and not just the athletes, but the water safety and medical team, event coordinators, the photogs and filmers, the boat captains/pangueros, spectators, everybody involved! All legends in their own right. And Todos truly worked her magic for us this day. My opening wave in the first minute of my first ever professional competition is something I’ll never, ever forget. The feeling of kicking out in the channel to the cheers of the crowd was absolutely electrifying and propelled me into the finals. During the finals and between sets, the baitfish were boiling all around us and the pelicans were having a wild feeding frenzy. One almost flew into @theyounglamb 😂 I had this moment sitting amongst the world’s best where I just felt so grateful to be alive, and so blessed to realize how these big wave challenges have empowered me to work through my own inner challenges. And that has been the most rewarding journey of all. Can’t wait to do it again next winter!! 🌊🇲🇽🙏

Bucket listing in the Amazon 🐆🌿🐍 I spent my 38th solar return in Peru, a solo journey tapping into the ancient wisdom and traditions of the Shipibo people, and the power and spirits of the jungle. What a beautiful gift. It was probably the single most challenging thing I’ve ever done in my life. I wanted all the smoke and she gave it to me- humbled beyond belief.
