Studio artists profile time!!! โฐ๏ธ๐จ
@otisaltaiexp joins us as DYED's latest visiting resident artist. Similar to our Alexandran viking Clark, Otis also hails from Alexandra, Otago. Trained as a chemical and process engineer he decided to instead go for the much more secure career path of animator/artist extraordinaire! โจ๏ธ๐๐บ๐
Instead of balancing valences he validates the bonds and forces within his pop-surreal drawings. He has also trained in academic drawing, being a mean dyamic figure drawer, yet he is not happy to stick with just drawing and twirling that luscious 'stache, oh no; he is a hustler, hustling animations to skitter across millions of screens, literally.
While we have Otis while bouncing his way between L.A. and Aotearoa, he can be found at DYED behind his cute desk, earphones on, cutting, looping, stretching and tweening animations and music videos to his heart's content.

Picked up my portrait last night from Clark Roworth of Dyed Studio and I'm very happy with it. It represents twenty-five years of my animated life spent drawing on this disc. Lots of Mickey, Zippy and Weston Woods Studios films started on this animation disc.
Im sure my friends are sick of me banging on about painting murals for ages, well i finally painted one in my own studio space and this year is going to be all about them because it was hella fun to paint.

I made a little reel of DYED going off one rainy eve to the NDA (Non Disclosed Artists) exhibition earlier this week featuring artwork by @sam_balzer_art@clarkroworth@nick.fields.art (even though we kicked him outta the studio in shame...) and moiself. So much great Sci-Fi and Fantasy art on display. You can still check it out till this Sunday 22nd September @thistlehall_community_venue .

Peter is the newest resident artist addition to the DYED family. Peter is a seasoned film industry matte painter with @wetafxofficial , but don't be fooled, as he also wields real brushes and pencils with a sensitivity and dexterity belied by his hulking 6 foot yass frame. Recently winning a Highly Commended award in the 2024 Adams Portrait Award, for his ink drawing of our very own @sam_balzer_art and @dellabarca_art at DYED, his detailed ink drawings are something to be seen! His dour cynical act is just a ploy to cover up what a sensitive cuddly cutie-patoottie he is.
