Well, I finally got to “ring the bell”, as they say in our biz. After 15 years of being a professional songwriter, and after 60+ weeks of climbing the chart, I officially have my first #1 song with “Heavens to Betsy”. I am so incredibly grateful to everyone involved who helped make this happen. Thank you @thejacksondean and @benjydavis for taking a title in my phone and turning it into a piece of art with the power to make people heal, forgive, and move on. Y’all are both rockstars and I’m proud to call you friends. Thank you to @lukedick for making magic in the studio and @bigmachinelabelgroup @scott.borchetta and the rest of Jackson’s team for believing in this song and taking it the distance. Thank you to my publishers @jodywilliamssongs and @riverhouseartists for making this session happen and always setting me up to succeed. Thank you to my partners @warnerchappellnashville and @sonymusicpubnashville for being my advocate and always having my back. It truly takes a village to take a song from the writing room to the top of the chart. Most of all, thank you to all the fans who requested and demanded this song get its day in the sun. This song was born four and a half years ago and lived in various forms on stages and live recordings before reaching the airwaves. I’m forever grateful for anyone who has been touched by Betsy’s story.
