“We live in capitalism. Its power seems inescapable. So did the divine right of kings.” — Ursula K. Le Guin
In an era of ecological collapse and political fracture, UN-EARTHING explores decolonial perspectives on the legacies of colonial and capitalistic exploitation. Bringing attention to the realities of a world shaped by the extraction of land, human life and labour. An opportunity for collective political imagination through ancestral remembrance, nourishing a culture of ecological justice and human dignity.

"Taking inspiration from Merleau-Ponty’s concept of chiasms and the intertwining of the touching and the tangible, CHIASMATA attempts to reimagine the theory through the perspective of eleven visual artists. Although presenting singular works, these artists and their respective practices come together within the space, creating possibilities for dialogues that cannot be anticipated. As they navigate thresholds of figurative and abstract forms, they embody the notion of an entangled being-in-the-world and form a network of perception, memory, and materiality."
