DOOR Foundation supports the call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza to facilitate the unobstructed delivery of crucial humanitarian aid. We strongly condemn the Israeli state’s military operations and express deep concern over Western support for the ongoing, genocidal occupation of Palestine. Since October 7th, Gaza’s death toll has crossed 9,000, and the staggering 40% of housing units in the Gaza area have now been destroyed as a result of Israel's continuous strikes.
At the same time, we denounce Hamas' October 7th attack that killed over 1400 Israelis and their abduction of 240 captives. We demand the unconditional release of these hostages.
Furthermore, we demand justice for over 1000 Palestinians held in Israeli prisons under the unlawful carceral practice of detention without charge or trial.
We firmly oppose all manifestations of hatred, whether they take the shape of racism, xenophobia, antisemitism, or islamophobia.

Réquiem (2025)
The desire of a body that has crossed death multiple times to achieve the perishable freedom of its existence is also a dance of a body trying to stay upright. A dream painted by the narrative of belonging and the possibility of finding a safe place. Where it is necessary to rearrange the meanings of life through iconoclasms that bleed — choreographed by the birds that twist themselves.

It is finally here , the first image of my very first film project is out !
I’m very excited to be sharing the first chapter of this personal project called « VOLT» .
This image was shot exactly a year ago, and little did I know that « VOLT » would be the symbol of my personal self exploration journey. A journey of vulnerability and doubts , uncovering layers , shedding lights on those well hidden darker corners.
The road is still long, but this first step wouldn’t have been possible without my amazing team of collaborators, thank you and big hug to every single one of you involved 🖤
Looking forward to share more soon !

Already in 3 days, COCOON by @leydepey premiers at @door_open_space !
COCOON; unraveling strings of time
Step into a world where silence breathes, light speaks, and the body becomes both question and answer. COCOON is an immersive, multidisciplinary performance by Leyla de Muynck – a sensory journey through grief, care, and transformation. Surrounded by textile sculptures, moving bodies, and cinematic projections, you don’t just watch—you enter. What does it mean to relate to the dead? And how do we mourn, care, and let go in a society that hides it away? A living ritual unfolds. A realm where the living and the dead might meet. Performed by a cast aged 22 to 77, and rooted in three years of personal research into mortality, ritual, and the intimate politics of the body.
Friday 27th June: doors open at 19:30, show starts at 20:00

Our old friends definitely remember Diner Obscure—after all, this is where it all began. Our very first event took place in 2013 in an abandoned warehouse in Amsterdam East. We’ve stayed true to what we love: bringing the unexpected and amplifying the voices of the creatures of the night, turning performance and nightlife into an art form.
We’re joining forces with @bar.gui.amsterdam to offer you an opulent 4-course dinner show on May 8-10 at Door Open Space NDSM.

Introducing Nick Coutsier @nickcoutsier - a multidisciplinary artist whose practice delves into embodied perspectives, centering on the concepts of Black Fugitivity, vulnerability, and the fluid relationship between identity, resistance, and liberation.
Through movement, Nick investigates how the body becomes both a site of personal struggle and a powerful force for self-expression, particularly for marginalized communities. His work bridges the gap between individual experiences and broader cultural narratives, challenging social constraints and inviting audiences to engage with complex intersections of race, queerness, and freedom.
In his newly-developed work, VOLT, Nick traces the journey of a queer Black protagonist striving for authenticity while navigating the weight of societal pressures and his own intersectionality. Through rhythm, movement, and sound, Volt becomes a dance of resilience and revolt, celebrating the protagonist’s defiance of conformity and his pursuit of self-authored liberation.
@nickcoutsier will perform VOLT during Choreomania: Bodily Excess, Collective Unrest on the 1st of November. Find more details in the link in bio. Nick Coutsier is a 2024 DOOR Foundation artist-in-residence, a programme curated by @aleksandra.wojt , @vicmazz , and @artificial.joy
Introducing ELLE FIERCE @ellefierce_ - a performance and visual artist, as well as a DJ based between London, Copenhagen & Berlin.
FIERCE’s body of work delves into the intricate layers of contemporary society, centring themes of Transness*, Queerness*, and Blackness.
Moving across an array of mediums —performance, installation, video, and curated events/spaces—FIERCE amplifies marginalised voices and ignites critical discourse within the artistic mainstream.
Her work is characterised by a provocative, immersive quality that transforms spectators into active participants in a dynamic, communal experience, proposing alternative avenues for connection and radical solidarity.
Rooted in personal stories, FIERCE’s performances are intimate invitations to explore the complexities of identity and community. Through an intersectional lens, FIERCE’s work defies conventional forms, redefining performances into powerful calls to action.
Catch @ellefierce_ performing on November 1st at Choreomania: Bodily Excess, Collective Unrest. Find more details in the link in bio.
