I present to you... Spook! 🦉🪉 Last year, @bastardjazz got in touch asking if i’d be a part of their new compilation Ecology Division. It’s a global project featuring some artists from London, Montreal, Brooklyn and beyond. ‘Spook’ came out of a session after Staffordshire St’s formidable @donut__jam . It features myself on harp 🪉, drums and percussion from @arun.jnssns double bass from @flarliechynn . Recorded and engineered by Charlie DOUGH rose to the challenge with Spook our DIY track, that came together really organically. Big thanks to Bastard Jazz for having us. So many amazing artists and some London friends on this one! We are very stoked to be part of it. Spook is currently featured in Spotify’s ‘State of Jazz’ playlist. Arun, Charlie & Rachel will play their new record Spook for the first time ahead of its release on Apr 24 (Bastard Jazz Recordings). Lock in for chats about how DOUGH came about and to hear a couple of their fave tracks - excited for you to hear it all go down on Kaleidosound show tomo. DOUGH is the curated formation of musicians and artists representing the Donut Jam community, gathering monthly to celebrate light, sound and movement. Their sound is a meeting ground where many hands mix and ferment their influences into something new.

Let’s Talk Access: Staffordshire St - This Friday 13th, Donut Jam lands at Staffordshire St with MATTERS UNKNOWN performing a new immersive set alongside live visuals @filmsbybeth and DJ @brorhavnes - Ahead of the show, we’re sharing a look at venue accessibility. Access information helps people decide whether an event works for them — especially for disabled and neurodivergent audiences who are too often excluded from arts spaces. - To support this, a series of access reels is beginning so audiences can see venues in advance — entrances, layout, and what to expect — before deciding to attend. Donut Jam / Staffordshire St shared a detailed accessibility sheet ahead of the event, and it’s encouraging to see venues actively working to support a range of physical and sensory access needs. this Friday 13.03.26 we bring together three outstanding artists - @mattersunknown @filmsbybeth & @brorhavnes - for our next celebration 🍩 MATTERS UNKNOWN is the evolving ensemble of Jonathan Enser (Nubiyan Twist, Blue Note), and will be providing our opening set. Blending spiritual jazz, psychedelic soul and contemporary improvisation, the group creates expansive, rhythm-driven music that balances composition, freedom, poetry and ambient textures. We are rejoined by donut regular Beth Walker - filmmaker, visual artist and animator. Her experiments with processes, often involving reactive materials at macro scales, inform her visual effects that will be projected across the space.
