Don’t Miss This Next Week ⚓️ Operation Dynamo: The Return to Ramsgate is back this May, and Ramsgate Royal Harbour is at the heart of it all. From 15 May, the 338 Standing With Giants silhouettes will line the harbour, followed by the return of over 25 Little Ships for the main weekend (22–25 May). These boats have real history here - many set off from Ramsgate during the 1940 Dunkirk evacuation, when ordinary local crews sailed out to help bring soldiers home. Seeing them back in the harbour always feels pretty special. It’s set to be a great weekend for Ramsgate - live music, markets, a ferris wheel, evening projections, and a real buzz around the town.

338 life-sized silhouettes have landed in Ramsgate Harbour this week thanks to @standing.with.giants . Each one represents 1,000 soldiers rescued during Operation Dynamo - a visual tribute to the 338,226 servicemen that were saved by little ships in 1940. From Friday 22nd May, more festivities will take place in Ramsgate Royal Harbour, including live music, a handmade market, parades, workshops and projections. It’s not long until Operation Dynamo lands in Ramsgate for 2026, so we’re throwing it back to last year’s festivities which saw the harbour come alive with little ships. This year the 4-day festival returns with live music, the handmade market, a funfair and of course a chance to spot the little ships as they commemorate the trip made to save troops from Dunkirk during WWII. A 6-week installation by @standing.with.giants will also see 338 silhouettes lining the harbour. Pop the 22-25 May in your diary!
