I'll be in Los Angeles for the next eight days, launching the latest exhibition I'm curating at the @skirball_la – 'Inventing America' is a dream project that's both a history of the US in the 20th Century through the lens of the comic book, and an investigation of how comics reflect and influence popular culture.
I'll have lots more to say and show in the days to come, but right now, keeping it short b/c I gotta get myself to the airport...
So if you're around L.A. this Wed-Sun, come out to see the show and say hello! (And if you're not in town now, it'll be on display through March 2027, so you have plenty of time to plan a visit.)
Inspired be @eeyipe , here's one of my favorite entries in the @archiecomics "Mr. Weatherbee hallucinates Archie everywhere" subgenre. (From Archie And Me #44, 1971 – original art from my personal collection.)
So I guess I can finally talk about this...
'Spider-Man: Total Universe', a guide to the web-slinger's comic book adventures 1962–2025. Published by @bdlev , in-stores in September, available for pre-order now!
Yesterday was a two-show night: @laptopic and @artbrutbandofficial at the Mercury Lounge, then run to the L train, quick stop off for a slice at Vinny's, and catching @_shit_rock_ at Warsaw. Sometimes, the rock and roll dream of NYC still lives.
Don't normally do selfies on here, but I'm making an exception to prove that @drsheenahoward 's Hip-Hop And Comics volume is out in the world... I wrote the foreword, and it features contributions by @orrdesigns@amy_chu@thedandolorian@kingdmc and many other greats; published by @upmississippi , now available everywhere!
