Join us next Wednesday (15/10) with Jack Colley (@baliboc ) for a very special night celebrating Kelela’s debut mixtape - Cut 4 Me 💙 When Kelela debuted with the mixtape Cut 4 Me in 2013, it set the internet alight with its novel presentation of a club-ready R&B sound. Kelela’s silky voice at the centre seduces the listener into a sensual otherworld, demonstrating her exceptional abilities as a vocalist and songwriter from early on. She would later sign with Warp Records and push her sound to new heights with subsequent records Hallucinogen (2015), Take Me Apart (2017), & Raven (2023). She released the live album In The Blue Light (2025), recorded during a residency at the legendary Blue Note Jazz Club. Significant not only for establishing a future star, Cut 4 Me calcified the sound of transatlantic sister labels, Night Slugs & Fade To Mind, at their peak. The mixtape’s sonic architecture emerged as dubs from players like Jam City, Nguzunguzu, Kingdom, Bok Bok, & Girl Unit, reverse remixed by the vocalist. The coalition of these two crews around Kelela results in a futuristic aesthetic fermented by the cultures of grime, dubstep, ballroom, Baltimore club, and Southern hip-hop. We’ll be listening to Cut 4 Me in full on the Big Romance sound system, as well as remixes and other deep cuts from the Night Slugs and Fade To Mind catalogues. We’ve decided to bring in some of Munster’s heaviest hitters for the occasion 🤼‍♀️ Tickets are on sale at 6pm tomorrow (Friday 5th Sept) @cee__m__cee is the moniker of Cillian McCarthy, a DJ from Cork City and promoter behind Carmina, a club night focusing on a wide range of dance music with its residency at Dali. Meshing together a deep influence from Cork City’s musical past as well as sounds and textures from US and UK club music, cee-m-cee brings various textures, moods, and sounds into one tapestry that’s carefully attuned to the dancefloors he plays for. @charlotte_wm_ is a fast-rising name in Ireland’s club circuit, with appearances at Cyprus Avenue, Pharmacia, Wigwam, and Belfast’s Telegraph Building. Her high-energy sets draw from a wide palette of techno, bass, ghettotech, progressive house, and breakbeat, underpinned by a love for all things percussive. @efa_o_neill , who last graced the Ar Ais Arís stage in early 2023(!) is an eclectic DJ and trained musician from Kerry, known for immersive sets that blend house, techno, bass, and leftfield sounds. A key figure in Ireland’s dance scene, she’s the force behind @outofspace808 - a party born in Cork and a long-running Dublin Digital Radio show spotlighting fresh talent. Her sets balance deep grooves, trippy textures, and percussive intensity-whether igniting festival stages or crafting introspective ambient journeys. Maybe you’ve seen him slay down Banger Cliff at OpenEar on Sherkin Island, headline Ar Ais Arís on New Years in the Áras or at the AAA takeover at Féile na Gréine (tonight!!!)? Or attended one of his very vibey Soilse nights in Glasgow? As well as these legendary contributions to Irish club culture and beyond, Doubt is one of Ireland’s finest club music producers. On this EP, its energy and drama to the fore. The emphasis on heavy percussion hints at Doubt’s ‘hard drum’ background, but this EP goes much further with Hud-mo-like (h/t to the Glasgow heads) brightness and swagger. From the big lean into the groove on C Error, and the brash percussive force of Troops, through to the frenetic colour of Lurkling, we think this is Doubt’s most arresting release to date and we’re very proud to have it on our lil label - thanks Ollie!! ❤️ The Doubt EP is out on the 19th September. In collaboration with EVA International and Lyónn Wolf, we present DYKE NITE x The Breeding Room for a special celebration of the 41st EVA International in Dolan’s Warehouse.
