Tonight is my second punt at presenting a BBC documentary called ‘In the Driving Seat’. It’s a film that I’ve had the pleasure of also co-producing, with my great friends Gerard Stratton and Eamonn Devlin from @triplevisionproductions It’s the first co-pro for Diverse Made Media and a significant step forward in our goals in cementing the business as a recognised and credible player in TV. This film was a real joy to make. It unleashed the nerdy tech-head in me, getting to look at some amazing innovations that are truly changing people’s lives. Wheelchairs and medical devices are often seen as something that are just built out of necessity with design being an after thought. Our film is a real glimpse at the future, looking at what is now possible, what’s to come and how technology is really blurring the lines between society and disability. In fact, these technologies are now so aspirational that they are being sought after from those without disabilities! On Saturday, we arrived back from a week long shoot in Ibiza where we were in pre-production for a documentary that we are planning to bring to television next summer. We met with the fantastic @mickwilson2000 , Tech Editor of DJ Mag to talk all things diversity in the electronic music industry as well as meeting with a range of different promoters and venue owners on the island. The DMM team had a great time filming at Notting Hill Carnival yesterday which was such a buzz! The atmosphere was amazing and it was great to see so many people come together in a real sense of community. Some of the sound systems were incredible and really loud too! We finished off the day with some curried goat and rice and a cheeky rum punch for good measure!
