We continue with Holiday Vacancy — @pavlivingroom The workshop proposes research through action as a method to engage with existing situations and activate their latent qualities. Through in situ interventions, participants will work with the material, social, and historical conditions of the territory as a transforming whole. Rather than a singular vision, the process relies on partial gestures and subjective readings that, confronted with the place, generate a more complex understanding of the environment. The space is conceived as a “living room”: a shared environment where situations are hosted and collectively transformed, open to the coexistence of uses and narratives. Mediante intervenciones in situ, se trabajará con las condiciones materiales, sociales e históricas del territorio como un conjunto en transformación. Más que una visión única, el proceso se basa en gestos parciales y lecturas subjetivas que, al confrontarse con el lugar, generan una comprensión más compleja del entorno. El espacio se plantea como un “living room”: un entorno compartido donde las situaciones se alojan y transforman colectivamente, abierto a la coexistencia de usos y relatos. We continue with @grillovasiu workshop: Between Belonging and Disruption. The workshop invites participants to engage with spaces not as passive backgrounds, but as active agents in a dialogue between what exists and what is introduced. Working on site, participants will design and build minimal interventions—precise insertions that subtly shift spatial perception. Guided by the question how much is enough?, it explores the threshold where an intervention reveals something previously unnoticed. A plane, a pillar, a curve—small gestures that do not impose, but transform. Each intervention operates within a tension: belonging and disruption. It should feel embedded in geometry, material, and light, while producing a moment of friction, a sudden awareness of change. Through models and in situ testing, participants will explore how geometry bends perception—blurring near and far, inside and outside. ESP What’s next? Un plano, un pilar, una curva: gestos que no imponen, sino que transforman. Cada intervención opera entre pertenencia y disrupción. Debe sentirse integrada en la geometría, los materiales y la luz, y a la vez generar un momento de fricción, una conciencia de cambio. A través de maquetas y pruebas in situ, se explorará cómo la geometría modula la percepción—desdibujando lo cercano y lo lejano, el interior y el exterior.

This workshop proposes a playful and critical approach to designing interventions through the assembly of heterogeneous elements. Moving away from a coherent or unified architecture, it explores composition as a method—understanding the built environment as a layered condition of fragments and discontinuities. Inspired by the grotesque and techniques such as the cadavre exquis, the workshop embraces ambiguity, collision, and mixture as design tools. Through unexpected combinations, participants will develop ephemeral interventions across emotional, material, and spatial dimensions. Set in Logroño, the workshop focuses on the relationship between the city and the Ebro river landscape—two systems that coexist with limited interaction. From this condition, participants will explore “grotesque composites” capable of activating this boundary. ESP What’s next? Arrancamos con el taller de DU Studio: Grotesque Composites. El taller propone un acercamiento lúdico y crítico al diseño de intervenciones a partir del ensamblaje de elementos heterogéneos. Frente a una arquitectura coherente o unitaria, trabaja desde la composición, entendiendo el entorno construido como una condición de capas y fragmentos. Inspirado en lo grotesco y en técnicas como el cadavre exquis, el workshop asume la ambigüedad, la colisión y la mezcla como herramientas proyectuales. A través de combinaciones inesperadas, los participantes desarrollarán intervenciones efímeras desde lo emocional, lo material y lo espacial. En Logroño, el taller se sitúa entre la ciudad y el paisaje fluvial del Ebro, dos sistemas que coexisten con escasa interacción. Desde ahí, se explorarán “composites grotescos” capaces de activar este límite.

TAXONOMIES OF ORDINARY FINDINGS 4-day workshop led by Distigmo @distigmo at HGK Basel FHNW as part of Co-Create @hgkbasel_cocreate In this workshop, we collected ordinary objects and experimented with sorting, naming and arranging them to extract information and create narratives. We worked with categories, simple systems, and collective decisions, transforming objects and drawings into structured arrangements. The process led to a collective installation of five large-scale compositions (1.50× 3.15 m each), a shared constellation of 84 objects and an archive of over 500 drawings, 22 texts, 48 diagrams, and 84 object analyses. Who’s next? We continue revealing the #Concéntrico2026 line-up, which from June 18–23 will activate Logroño through a new series of public space interventions. At the same time, the Summer School — Ephemeral Agents remains open for applications, bringing together three international practices as workshop leaders. The new participant is PAV living room, one of the three practices leading the Summer School — Ephemeral Agents, a programme by Concéntrico × Distigmo supported by Pro Helvetia. PAV living room is a Geneva-based association founded in 2023 by collectif vendredi (Blerta Axhija and Nina Guyot), later joined by Marine Evrard. Their practice moves between architecture, urbanism, and curatorial work, focusing on transition as a permanent condition of the territory through in situ interventions, activation processes, and new forms of spatial appropriation. Alongside this, they are engaged in teaching and have collaborated with institutions such as HEAD–Geneva, EPFL, ETH, and ENSA Versailles. In 2025, they received the Swiss FAS Prize. ESP Who’s next? La nueva participante es PAV living room, una de las tres prácticas que lideran el Summer School — Ephemeral Agents, un programa de Concéntrico × Distigmo con el apoyo de Pro Helvetia. PAV living room es una asociación con sede en Ginebra fundada en 2023 por collectif vendredi (Blerta Axhija y Nina Guyot), a la que posteriormente se sumó Marine Evrard. Su práctica se sitúa entre la arquitectura, el urbanismo y el comisariado, abordando la transición como condición permanente del territorio a través de intervenciones in situ y procesos de activación del espacio. Paralelamente, desarrollan actividad docente y han colaborado con instituciones como HEAD–Geneva, EPFL, ETH o ENSA Versailles. En 2025 recibieron el Swiss FAS Prize.

After graduating from the Academy of Architecture in Mendrisio and co-founding UNULAUNU, they established their practice in 2010. Their work has been recognised with distinctions such as the Weissenhof Architekturförderpreis (2014) and the Swiss Art Awards (2022), and is combined with teaching and research at institutions including ETH Zurich, AHO Oslo, Porto Academy and Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio. Concéntrico 2026 presenta el proyecto ganador de la convocatoria internacional Identidad y Ficción, lanzada por Concéntrico: El plano latente, de Dancing on Architecture (@belligerent_poetics , @mira_architecture , @wonderground_company ) El proyecto propone una ficción urbana en el Paseo del Espolón en la que el acto cotidiano de caminar se transforma en una coreografía colectiva. La intervención no introduce un objeto autónomo, sino un rito ciudadano que se despliega en el tiempo, alterando la percepción del espacio y generando una expectativa compartida. Desde el inicio del festival, una traza geométrica sobre el pavimento establece una arquitectura latente que modifica la lectura del lugar sin desvelar su propósito, alcanzando su plena manifestación el 21 de junio, coincidiendo con el solsticio de verano. 📍 Concéntrico 2026 📅 18–23 junio, Logroño EN Concéntrico 2026 presents the winning project of the Identity and Fiction international call, launched by Concéntrico: El plano latente, by Dancing on Architecture. The project proposes an urban fiction on Paseo del Espolón where the everyday act of walking becomes a collective choreography. Rather than introducing an autonomous object, the intervention unfolds as a civic ritual over time, altering the perception of space and generating a shared expectation. From the beginning of the festival, a geometric trace on the pavement establishes a latent architecture that reshapes the reading of the site without revealing its purpose, reaching its full manifestation on June 21, coinciding with the summer solstice. 📍 Concéntrico 2026 📅 June 18–23, Logroño

Concéntrico 2026 presenta el proyecto ganador de la convocatoria internacional Ecologías Urbanas, lanzada por Concéntrico: Shade, Breeze, Cooling, de @noof.group (Francisco Reyes, Catalina Portillo, Freddy Acevedo). El proyecto aborda la creciente vulnerabilidad térmica del espacio público mediante una intervención capaz de generar condiciones ambientales específicas como sombra, enfriamiento y habitabilidad. Frente al aumento de temperaturas y la intensificación de las olas de calor, propone la construcción de un paisaje artificial que actúa sobre la atmósfera urbana. A través del ensamblaje de estructura, materia y agua, la propuesta modifica activamente el clima del entorno. Un sistema modular, económico y escalable, basado en montaje en seco con elementos estandarizados, tableros de madera y un sistema de agua nebulizada en suspensión, configura un dispositivo que transforma la experiencia del espacio. 📍 Concéntrico 2026 📅 18–23 junio, Logroño EN Concéntrico 2026 presents the winning project of the Urban Ecologies international call, launched by Concéntrico: Shade, Breeze, Cooling, by noof group (Francisco Reyes, Catalina Portillo, Freddy Acevedo). The project addresses the growing thermal vulnerability of public space through an intervention capable of generating specific environmental conditions such as shade, cooling, and habitability. In response to rising temperatures and increasingly intense heatwaves, it proposes the construction of an artificial landscape that acts on the urban atmosphere. By assembling structure, material, and water, the proposal actively modifies the surrounding climate. A modular, affordable, and scalable system, based on dry assembly with standardized elements, wooden panels, and a suspended misting water system, creates a device that transforms the experience of space. 📍 Concéntrico 2026 📅 June 18–23, Logroño

Concéntrico 2026 presenta el proyecto ganador de la convocatoria internacional Ephemeral Agents, lanzada por Concéntrico x Distigmo: Frontones Danzantes, del colectivo italiano @2050.plus El proyecto propone una infraestructura efímera que transforma el espacio urbano a través del juego. A partir de un gesto sencillo —un muro y una pelota— recupera el espíritu colectivo de la pelota vasca y lo traslada al presente, activando el Aparcamiento del Revellín como un paisaje dinámico. La intervención introduce cuatro frontones móviles capaces de reconfigurar el espacio y ampliar sus usos, incorporando distintas prácticas deportivas. Un sistema modular en seco, basado en paneles de madera y estructuras metálicas, permite que la arquitectura se adapte al movimiento, al tiempo y a las personas. The project proposes an ephemeral infrastructure that transforms urban space through play. Starting from a simple gesture —a wall and a ball— it reinterprets the collective spirit of Basque pelota and brings it into the present, activating the Revellín parking area as a dynamic landscape. The intervention introduces four mobile frontons that reconfigure the space and expand its uses, incorporating different sports practices. A dry modular system, based on wooden panels and metal structures, allows the architecture to adapt to movement, time, and people. Play, architecture, and collective action intertwine to reimagine the city.
