After a year later, yalls requests have been accepted. This is an important milestone for me. 2024 was a tough year and it has been extremely rewarding to have made this project w friends and loved ones. I cannot thank everyone who was a part of this process enough. From those who aided me in the writing process , to the film festivals and amazing homies who gave me the opportunity to screen this film. I just wanna say youre the reason why i continue. This film was something i felt super insecure to make and show. And to be accepted w open arms and connect w those who shared similar experiences was a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. And for that i continue to grow. To the community thats joined me along the way, stay tuned, the homies and i got plenty more cooking up. Thank you for the love and most importantly, your time. “This Station is My Father” is an exploration of a troubled father-son relationship. Timoteo Cortez is a Chicano Writer/Director from Houston, Texas, known for his recent short film “PROVERBS”. He is an adaptive filmmaker with a mission to push the boundaries of narratives. His main sources of inspiration come from his fascination with history and philosophy. He is currently developing his new short film “CANDLES”, a period drama set in the ‘70s, about a Hispanic couple learning to grieve their teenage son’s death in the Vietnam War. Isaac Salazar is an Austin-born and Houston-based poet. His work is published or forthcoming in AGNI, Hayden's Ferry Review, Honey Literary, orangepeel, The Acentos Review, Where Meadows, among others. He is a graduate student at Rice University. The REELpoetry Festival is a 2 week-long event showcasing 100+ film screenings under 6 minutes from 20 different countries.
