SAVE THE DATE — JUNE 10 @3daysofdesign 🌳⁠ ⁠ THIS IS NOT A FOREST is a sensory installation at DAC, tracing wood’s journey from forest to architecture.⁠ ⁠ Developed by @archival_studies in collaboration with @danisharchitecturecenter and @dinesen.lab , the exhibition explores how wood moves from raw material to crafted design — and how a deeper understanding of its nature, value chain, and craftsmanship can support more responsible ways of building.⁠ ⁠ Step into a constructed forest of timber, shaped by light, sound, and scent, developed by @studiopneuma . From raw logs on Bryghuspladsen to processed materials and a digital forest inside DAC, the installation unfolds across multiple spaces — guiding you through wood’s transformation.⁠ ⁠ What feels like nature is, in fact, carefully designed.⁠ ⁠ The installation also features bespoke furniture and a welcome desk by Archival, made from leftover wood from Dinesen Lab — now a permanent part of DAC’s Welcome area.⁠ ⁠ Experience it free of charge during @3daysofdesign .⁠ ⁠ This is not a forest. A Sense of Dinesen In collaboration with smell researcher Sissel Tolaas and Studio Pneuma, we explored Dinesen through the sense of smell. Sissel Tolaas travelled from the Black Forest to our sawmill in Jels, documenting the journey of the Douglas tree. These recordings became DD-1, a smell archive of documented molecules. From this archive emerged DD-2, the interior scent of Dinesen Douglas. @sssl_berlin @studiopneuma
