February brought us an hour of endless blends from @different.shades for SOMNA on @voices_radio — Malaysian-born, London-based selector conjuring the space between shadow and shimmer. IDM mutates into deep dubwise sludge, tech house wafters dissolve into lo-fi power electronics. Nothing lands where you expect it to. It’s 7am. Back of the dance. Spliff lit. Head down. The floor feels like wet moss and sub-bass. A true force within the avant-garde, Different Shades bridges darker psychedelic weight with playful, sparkling mischief. for this mix, i wanted to weave together a selection of music i've been finding solace in during this catastrophic time. alot of deep, melancholic, beautiful, noisy tripped out dreamscapes in here. newer music by friends and older favourites nestled in this mix + a few tracks for protest & pause; by Palestinian artists as well as music in compilations by labels donating their profits to aid in Gaza; for reflection, to take a moment to think about the plight of the Palestinian people. we must not forget about the g3n0c!d3 that is happening right now in Gaza.  free Palestine. 🇵🇸 - this is a mix for being mindful; listening.
